Ans- Thomas Hood composed this poem.
b. What is the poem about?
Ans- The poem is about the childhood
memories of the poet which he compares with his adulthood.
c. What does the poet remember in the first stanza?
Ans- The poet remembers the house where he
was born and the little window through which the sun rays entered his house.
d. What does he wish in the first stanza?
Ans- He wishes that the night would take
his breath away.
e. What does he remember in the second stanza?
Ans- He remembers red and white roses,
violets, lily-cups, robin and laburnum.
f. How does the poet describe his childhood in the third
stanza?
Ans- The poet used to swing, enjoy the
breeze. Also, he was all energetic and high in spirit.

child? Why does he think so?
Ans- No, the poet was not really closer to
the heaven when he was a child. But he thinks he was closer to the heaven
because of his childish ignorance.
