Ans- Yogmaya is a poet, teacher and insurgent during1930s' Nepal. Manamaya is her follower.

Ans- The two main reasons that made Yogmaya a rebel were:

        a.    the cultural and political oppression of her time

        b.    the ruler who allowed corruption and inequality to prevail in the country

Ans- Yogamaya's demand with the government to grant them justice.

Ans- The hazurbani is a collection of the powerful verses composed by Yogamaya. It is popular as the verses carry equality, love of homeland and a message of virtues.

Ans- I think Yogmaya stopped her revolt because the rulers did not pay heed to her demand of reforming the corrupt practices and justice.

f.     How did Yogmaya die?

Ans- Yogamaya jumped into the thundering current of the Arun river with her 68 followers.

g.    After Yogamaya’s death, what might have been the reaction of the government?

Ans- After Yogamaya’s death, the government banned all mention of her. Also, her campaign was thoroughly expunged from the nation’s historical record.

Ans- The given verses have the message of reform, justice, equality, love of nature, satire on the cruel rulers, mutual respect, parity, virtue, and non-violence.

Ans- I learned to raise voice against inequality and discrimination, and fight against social evils in a peaceful manner.
